EL MERCURIO is considered one of the two most important newspapers in Chile, with a wide readership. As such, this publication offers exceptional exposure for Cyprus through the country’s largest and oldest urban celebration – the Limassol Carnival.The article, titled “A Celebration Between Europe and the Middle East”, with the subtitle “Carnival, in the Lands of Dionysus”, was written by Argentine photojournalist Guido Piotrkowski and accompanied by his own photographic work.The photographer travelled to Cyprus during the recent carnival celebrations, accompanied by the Ambassador of Cyprus to Argentina, Stelio Georgiades, in order to document the various stages and events of the Limassol Carnival through photography.
