I came across Aydan’s content on TikTok a few months ago. A Turkish Cypriot dietitian, born and raised in Australia and now based in London, that tells people facts about Cypriot food. “Food Anthropology”, as she says in her Instagram bio. For example, did you know that Moudjendra lentils were found in a 13th century cookbook? “Kitab al Tabikh” – The book of dishes. It travelled in 1571 with the Ottomans to Cyprus, with Syrian, Anatolian and Levantine migrants.
