Wine has always been part of Cyprus’s identity, yet the challenges facing today’s vineyards are growing. From hotter summers and water scarcity to shifting ripening patterns and labour shortages, the pressures are as clear as a midday sun over the Troodos.

Fortunately, vine growers now have access to a new resource to help them meet these challenges and optimise their harvests: drones.
For those interested in learning how they can incorporate drones into their cultivation practices, on October 3rd, 2025 winegrowers and researchers will gather at Ktima Gerolemo in Omodos for live drone demonstrations over the vineyard, part of a wider European initiative exploring how technology can support more sustainable viticulture.
