Cyprus is sending aid to Greece to combat the fires in Xylokastro, in the Peloponnese Region
An announcement by the Department of Forestry says that there was a consultation with the Agriculture Minister Dr. Maria Panagiotou and the assistance is sent through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. Minister of Foreign Affairs was briefed on the development.
The Cyprus mission consists of two Air Tractor type airplanes of the Forest Department with a crew of five and ground support staff of five persons.
