The Red Cross is traveling to a meeting point in Gaza to receive several coffins carrying the apparent remains of deceased hostages, the Israeli military said Tuesday.
“The Red Cross is on its way to the meeting point in the southern Gaza Strip, where several coffins of deceased hostages will be transferred into its custody,” according to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Israel Security Agency (ISA).
The individuals have yet to be named or formally identified.
The IDF in its statement asked the public to act with “sensitivity and wait for the official identification, which will first be provided to the families of the hostages.”
